The Siltberg-Liberles Lab
Evolution of Protein Structure and Function
conformational flexibility, functional divergence, and molecular mimicry

We are computational biologists using a combination of bioinformatics, phylogenetics, and protein structure & function analysis to elucidate general mechanisms of protein evolution and specifically of protein functional divergence.
By studying the intricate interplay of biophysical factors within and between biomolecules in real-time and on evolutionary time-scales, we contribute to an improved understanding of
genotype-proteotype-phenotype relationships with applications in agriculture, engineering, and
health care.
