We are computational biologists using a combination of bioinformatics, phylogenetics, and protein structure & function analysis to elucidate mechanisms of protein evolution and functional divergence.

We are also bioinformatics educators engaged in teaching bioinformatics utilizing inquiry- and research-based curricula. We perform bioinformatics education research to evaluate our curricula and teaching efforts so we can generate evidenced-based bioinformatics curricula and understand how students learn and want to learn bioinformatics.
